Directory Listings

Welcome to the homepage of the online directories. The American Acadmey of Spine Physicians provides a direct link to three highly visible online directories for spine specialists. A brief overview of each of the three directories is listed below along with a link to the directory.

International Directory of Spinecare Professionals

The International Directory of Spinecare Professionals was designed to enhance the visibility and profiles of spinecare professionals of all disciplines and specialties. The directory is used by the public to learn more about spine physicians and other spinecare professionals they may choose to see. The directory is also used by health care providers to develop professional relationships and to initiate referrals. The directory provides user friendly search functions such as name, discipline, specialty, facility name, and geographic location. All qualified spinecare professionals can set up a listing and a full page online profile FREE of charge. Full members of the AASP receive special acknowledgment and additional member benefits. . The online profile offers need-to-know information such as contact information, training, areas of practice emphasis, website address (link), specialized training/credentialing as well as a picture of the member (optional). Healthcare professionals who obtain prestigious Diplomate or Fellow status through the AASP are acknowledged and receive priority listings on the directory. The ISA developed an information script form/pad for spinecare professionals and other health care providers to use when making referrals and building a multidisplinary spinecare team.

International Directory of Spinecare Facilities

The International Directory of Spinecare Facilities was designed to help the public and professionals locate healthcare facilities and evaluate the attributes of facilities. The online profile reveals whether a spinecare facility has an integrated multidisciplinary staff. It provides a link to staff members who are also members of the American Academy of Spine Physicians. The profiles help users identify the name and type of specialists working together and what type diagnostic and therapeutic services are available. The directory provides the user with numerous easy to use search functions. This directory is very helpful for the user who is looking for a place rather than a specific professional by name. It also provides the user with an opportunity to compare and contrast different spinecare facilities.

International Directory of Spinecare Products

The International Directory of Spinecare Products was designed to introduce available products to health care professionals and the public. Each online profile highlights the products role and purpose in spinecare. The profile also supports the use of pictures and/or an informative webcast (infomercial) about the product. The directory provides user friendly search functions such as product category, company, and applications. Spinecare companies can set up a product listing and profile if their product meets the posted listing criteria. The online profile will acknowledge whether the product is available through the AASP or ISA Buying Advantage Program. For a product to be available through the Buying Advantage Programs the company which sells the product must offer something of value to the buyer. This benefit must be posted and visible on the product profile. Each product profile will also include company contact and ordering information. The ISA offers different spinecare information script forms/pads which spinecare professionals can use to direct their patients to specific products or product categories posted on the directory. Information can also be downloaded or printed from the online catalog pages.

Inform a Colleague

Expand and Educate Your Spinecare Network

Welcome to the Inform a Colleague area of the Academy Website. The American Academy of Spine Physicians (AASP) strives to implement new and more efficient methods for members to communicate with other healthcare professionals. One of the most effective tools is the online "Inform a Colleague" function. This function can be used to expand and educate your spinecare referral network. It also represents a resource to conveniently inform others about trends in spinecare and about offers of organizations such as the American Academy of Spine Physicians (AASP), the International Spine Association (ISA). The link library also contains an application for membership with the AASP.

The online "Inform a Colleague" feature provides an invaluable time-saving service for keeping spinecare professionalsup-to-date, expanding the spinecare network, stimulating interdisciplinary referrals and for inviting colleagues to join the AASP. The library of links is always being updated with useful information and resources. The linked messages can be used to
